Riga [Latvia], April 23: The International Monetary Fund (IMF) has slightly lowered Latvia's economic growth forecast for 2025, according to the IMF's latest World Economic Outlook, published on Tuesday.
The IMF forecasts Latvia's GDP to grow by 2 percent this year and by 2.5 percent in 2026. In October 2024, the IMF projected the Latvian economy to grow by 2.3 percent this year.
According to the IMF's latest forecast, inflation in Latvia is expected at 2.4 percent both in 2025 and 2026. The IMF forecasts Latvian unemployment at 6.7 percent for this year and at 6.6 percent for next year.
For Estonia, the IMF forecasts GDP growth of 0.7 percent in 2025, down from its October 2024 projection of 1.6 percent for 2025.
In contrast, the IMF has raised Lithuania's 2025 economic growth forecast to 2.8 percent, up from 2.6 percent projected in October 2024.
